ಬೆಸೆಂಟ್ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನಾ ಘಟಕ, ಲಯನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಮೀಡಿಯಾ ಅಲ್ಯುಮಿನಿ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಆಫ್ ಮಂಗಳಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿ,(ಮ್ಯಾಮ್), ಹಾಗೂ ತೇಜಸ್ವಿನಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ದಿನಾಂಕ 12-4-2016ನೇ ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಬೆಸೆಂಟ್ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಶಿಬಿವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಲಯನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಕೊಡಿಯಾಲ್‌ಬೈಲ್‌ನ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ, ಲಯನ್ ಚಂದ್ರಹಾಸ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಇವರು ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು, ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದಾಗ ಸಂತೋಷ ಹಂಚಿದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಸೇವೆಯ ಬದುಕು ಸುಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಬದುಕು. ರಕ್ತದಾನದಿಂದ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಆಗಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು. ಗೌರವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಲಯನ್ ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಶರ್ಮ ಎನ್, ವಕೀಲರು, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಜೀವ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಲಯನ್ಸ್ ಸದಾ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು. ಇನ್ನೋರ್ವ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಫ್ಲೋರಿನ್ ರೋಶ್, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮ್ಯಾಮ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸಮಾಜಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮೈಗೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕಾಲೇಜೇ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ದೆಸೆಯೇ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಮಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಕ್ತದಾನವೇ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಸೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲೆ ಡಾ.ಸುಲೋಚನ ನಾರಾಯಣ್, ದಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಬೇಕು, ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಋಣ ತೀರಿಸುವ ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾದ ಸೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನುಡಿದರು. ತೇಜಸ್ವಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ತೆಯ ಡಾ.ಡೀನಾ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕೃತಕವಾಗಿ ತಯಾರು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ದಾನಿಗಳೇ ಈ ಜೀವ ದ್ರವವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಜೀವಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೆಪಿಸಿದರು.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸೇವಾ ಯೋಜನಾ ಘಟಕದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಜಯಶ್ರೀ. ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ಸ್ಮಿತಾ ಶೆಣ್ಯೆ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ರವಿಪ್ರಭ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ. ದೇವಾನಂದ ಪೈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಸಂಜೆವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ 56 ಯೂನಿಟ್ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ದಾನಿಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯಾಗಿ ಶಿಬಿರ ಅಮೋಘ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿತು.

NSS, MAAM, LION’S, TEJASWINI HOSP. HOLD BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT BESANT WOMEN’S COLLEGE
Blood Donation camp was orgnaised in the Besant Women’s College yesterday (12th April Tuesday) by National Service Scheme Unit of Besant Women’s College, in association with Media Alumni Association of Mangalagangothri, Lions Club Mangalore-Kodialbail and Tejaswini Hospital, Mangalore .
The camp was inaugurated by Ln.Chandrahas Shetty, Regional Chairman. Speaking on the occasion he said developing a community sense and working for the good of all is like sharing happiness. The culture of service defines a good human value. Blood donation is the kindest of all acts of service. He opined, a donor does not lose anything but gains a lot of confidence and goodwill of the society by frequent blood donations. Ln. Balakrishna Sharma N. Advocate, President, Lion’s Club Kodialbail who was a guest said, the Lion’s club has been instrumental in providing blood and other needy medical facilities to the public. Wherever and whenever possible Lions has joined hands with different organisations in acts of social service. Florien Roche, President - MAAM & Programme Executive AIR, Mangalore who was on the dias opined, that studenthood is the best time, college is the best forum and blood donation is the best opportunity to develop social vibrancy and will to serve humanity, she said this was the 10th blood donation camp organised by MAAM.
Dr.Sulochana Naryana, the Principal, who presided over said, the pleasure of giving back to the society can be experienced by serving alone. She said, a consciousness among the students that they belong to a greater world outside will make them a socially concerned person. Dr. Deena from Tejaswini Hospital spoke to motivate the students for blood donation. Prof. Jayashree, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed earlier. Mrs. Smith Shenoy thanked. K Devananda Pai, the College Correspondent and Mrs. Raviprabha were on the stage. In the day long camp 56 units of blood was collected.

ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲೆ ಡಾ.ಸುಲೋಚನ ನಾರಾಯಣ್, ದಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಬೇಕು, ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಋಣ ತೀರಿಸುವ ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾದ ಸೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನುಡಿದರು. ತೇಜಸ್ವಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ತೆಯ ಡಾ.ಡೀನಾ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕೃತಕವಾಗಿ ತಯಾರು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ದಾನಿಗಳೇ ಈ ಜೀವ ದ್ರವವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಜೀವಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೆಪಿಸಿದರು.
