MAAM The New Edition @ BANGALURU

MAAM BANGALURU CHAPTER MEET REPORT HELD ON 8th AUGUST 2015

MANGALORE: The Bangalore chapter of Media Alumni Association of Mangalagangotri (MAAM) was formally launched on August 8, 2015 at a meeting of the alumni held at the Bangalore Press Club in Bengaluru.     About 30 alumni from Bengaluru working for  diverse media and five office bearers of  from Mangalore participated in the meeting leading to the formal launching of the Bangalore chapter.  

Five office bearers of MAAM including President Florine Roche, Honorary President Venu Sharma, Secretary Krishnama Mohana  Talengala, Vice President Ronald Anil Fernandes,  and PRO Krishna Kishore travelled to Bengaluru to pave the way for the formation of the Bengaluru Chapter.    The members met at the Press  Club over lunch   and spent about two hours discussing ways and means of strengthening MAAM.

The meeting began with Florine Roche giving a brief introduction  about the circumstances that led to the formation of MAAM in December 2014   and the journey so far.  She emphasized the need of forming a Bangalore Chapter of MAAM     to strengthen the alumni association.  Honorary President of MAAM Venu Sharma
 stated that MAAM is a registered body now and it has made its presence felt by conducting various programmes including the successful ‘Manobhinandana’ programme.
The Bangalore chapter members unanimously elected Prashant Rai as the General Secretary of the Bangalore chapter.  Other members elected to the working committee are    1. Ambareesh Bhat 2. Sooryanarayana  3.  Srinivas  4. Navitha Jain  5.  Raghavendra Bhat  6.  Sadashiva 7.  Ramachandra Muliya  8.  Ajith Kumar 9.  Manjunath Hebbar 10 .  Vivek Nambiar.
In addition to these office bearers of MAAM from Bengaluru elected and  coopted  during the AGM  namely  Naveen Amembal,  Deepak K , Suprabha    and automatically become working committee members.
Mr Prashanth Rai, accepted the responsibility to work as General Secretary and said he will work towards the set goal with the active support and cooperation of MAAM members of both Bengaluru and Mangalore.
It was decided to form a Whatsapp group of Bengaluru MAAM members to facilitate communication among them.  Vivek Nambiar and Naveen ammembala has been given this responsibility.  Members of Bengaluru chapter decided to meet over lunch on 4th Saturday of every month at the Press Club to chalk out their programmes and plans.
Joint Secretary of MAAM who is also member of Bangalore chapter Naveen Ammembala said   plans are afoot to organize a seminar on cyber crime in association with NASCOM and police department of Bengaluru within the next 2 months.
